Newport Beach's
5-Star Multi-Specialty Surgery Center

Having Surgery?

Once your doctor has scheduled your surgery at Newport Beach Surgery Center, you will receive three phone calls prior to your date of service:

1. Insurance Verification Department
Our insurance team will contact your insurance company to verify your current healthcare benefits and coverage (deductible, co-insurance and co-pay). They will then prepare a patient estimate based on the information provided. Once this is complete, our insurance verifiers will contact you with your patient estimate and will discuss any questions you may have regarding your financial responsibility prior to your procedure. Please note that it is our company policy to collect all deductible, co-insurance and co-pay amounts prior to surgery.

2. Preoperative Nurses
Prior to your procedure you will receive a call from one of our preoperative nurses. It is our policy to review patient history, current medications you may be taking, any known allergies, and to identify any family medical history. Our facility pays special attention to patients’ age, prior historical events and any underlying health condition as they impact the proposed surgical and anesthetic events. Our preoperative nurses can answer any medical questions regarding your upcoming procedure.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our preoperative nursing staff at (949) 631-0988 extension 3024 or the direct line at (949) 631-8715.

3. Anesthesiologist
The evening prior to your procedure you will receive a call from one of our anesthesiologists. They will review your patient medical history as well as any previous anesthetic issues. They will also review with you the time you should arrive at our center and the last time you may eat or drink prior to your procedure.

Prior to Surgery

Prior to your scheduled procedure we ask that you review the packet that was provided to you by your physician’s office. In this packet are several examples of our financial consents. On the day of your surgery, you should arrive at our facility one hour prior to your scheduled procedure unless otherwise informed by your anesthesiologist. We also ask that you complete and sign all yellow forms prior to arrival at our center.

Day of Surgery

On the day of surgery, we ask that you leave all valuables at home except for your Identification Card or Passport as well as your current insurance cards. We also ask that you bring a form of payment for your patient estimate that was discussed with you by our Insurance Verification Department. Form of payment includes Cash, Cashier’s Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express; we do not except Care Credit or Personal Checks. Please be aware we ask that all patients have a designated driver; this does not include taxis, Lyft, or Uber.
